Petite Pet Pouch

Petite Pet Pouch
Free Crochet Pattern

Good day, everyone! Something very exciting has happened in our family recently. A tiny sick kitten showed up on our doorstep last month! Her eyes were matted shut and she was all skin and bones. My husband took her to the vet and we found out she had a respiratory infection and weighed only .75 pounds!
So... We adopted her! Her name is Dinah and she's doing much better. She's now 12 weeks old but her growth has been stunted. She's still less than 2 pounds!

It was important in the beginning to keep her warm, so I whipped up this little kitty cave to help her feel safe and cozy. You can make your own in just 30 minutes! Add it to your favorites on Ravelry here: Petite Pet Pouch

Petite Pet Pouch
Materials:
-N 9.0 hook
-Super bulky yarn (I used less than 1 skein of Lion Brand Thick & Quick.)
-Medium or lightweight yarn (I used a bit of scrap yarn. This part is not crucial, but I thought it would add some color and make it even thicker.)
-Scissors
-Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
-Measuring tape to measure gauge

Notes:
-Gauge is 1" = 2.5 rows and 1" = 2 stitches. Gauge is NOT important. You can adjust the size for a larger or smaller pet.
-Join each round with a slip stitch to the first stitch of the round.
-Chain 1 at the beginning of the round does not count as a stitch.
-Stitch counts are indicated in (parenthesis).

DISCLAIMER:
DO NOT use this pouch for a pet that tries to eat the yarn. If you are unsure, ask your vet before using, especially with rodents.

  1. What a sweet little one! Love the little pouch you made for her too! Looks really nicely done but not too hard to make! If only my kitties were small enough to fit in it!
